I see that you can install Android apps from the Google Play store on the Onyx Boox tablets. Is this possible on the Remarkable 2 as well? Or is there any other store I can install apps from on the Remarkable?
You can’t install Android apps on the reMarkable 1 or 2, since they are both running a custom version of Linux. The underlying operating system is different, so the Google Play store doesn’t run on reMarkable.
However, there are still third-party applications available for the reMarkable. They just take a little bit more technical knowledge to install. The best collection that I know of is curated on GitHub:
